As far as where you can buy it, you can check out eBay and Amazon although last time I checked it's still full price or very expensive on there. If you want a simple phone with a flagship camera do not get this, but if you are willing to learn and want to multi-task, I would whole heartedly recommend this device. I think it if it was my main device, it would be trickier as, you have to open it up in order to see notifications or to do anything(like the others have said in this case maybe a smart watch makes sense ⌚⌚) I would say the touch sensitivity is pretty good(I got mine about a month ago so I didn't experience all the bugginess/lag that was going on at the launch) and to me the camera is aite(not great, not horrible).

For example, YouTube on the left and a web browser on the right). For me if has been great to use all the different postures and it is just awesome to open it up and have an app on each side(ie. When you first get it, it took a little bit of time as it is completely differently from every other device on the market(Fold included). For me, I have a Surface Duo 2 as my back-up device. Like the others say, you have to come in with an open mind. I had almost completely retired it when I had my Note 10+, but it feels good to carry a camera again. I solder a lot at my weekend job, and there is no quality way to get close-ish photos.īut the positives of the having a slightly annoying camera, is that I've started carrying my Mirrorless camera again. Also, I wish there was a usable, even half assed, macro mode. I know I can set it to take "Blind" photos with a double tap of the power button, but it's not something that can be relied on. I wish I could easily take accurate pictures one handed. I don't even notice the camera bump, it's just. My biggest problem with the Duo 2 is the camera, and not for the reason that everyone hates it. I still will sometimes "double tap" the back screen when going to single screen mode, and I have to open and then close it again. Rotation Lock turning on randomly, and I have to swipe down and turn it off to go into landscape mode. There are little annoyances like the keyboard placement(Slightly off screen) when in laptop mode, but just closing and reopening the keyboard fixes it. I do have my "grrrr" moments, but they have gotten fewer. I'm using one as my only device too and I enjoy it.

Hopefully Android 12L will fix most of these little bugs and annoyances. The phone is quirky and that's what I love about it, if you want a traditional phone, this isn't it.īattery life isn't great, unless you stick to single screen mode but, you learn to live with it. The glance/edge strip is next to useless, it's at a weird angle. It saves having to open the phone all the time.

My advice would be to own a smartwatch or a Garmin watch that can display notifications. It doesn't bother me and it doesn't happen consistently. It does still have little niggles, and not everyone has them and some have more extreme ones but, there are times that random apps will just launch and span both screens, Outlook being one of them. Banking app on one side and calculator or Excel on the other), it's a capable gaming machine. For me, the Duo 2 is excellent at multitasking, using tent mode to watch You Tube, running one app per screen (e.g. It all comes down to what you want your phone/device to do. The cameras are OK, not Pixel level or iPhone level cameras but, they're passable for day to day use. Spanning, moving apps from screen to screen etc.

I used it every day and with every update its just getting better.Īndroid 12L is due to be released at some point before the end of the year which should help improve it some more as I think, and I'm happy to be corrected on this, the OS will do most of things that Microsoft are currently forcing Android 11 to do i.e. I'm sure you can get it on a site that delivers to your location, not entirely helpful but that's the best I have.Īs to whether it's any good! I have one and it's my only phone.
